About Pascal

Pascal Thielen is a German studio and live drummer, audio & mixing engineer and educator. He studied at the Popakademie Mannheim and graduated in 2024 and has taken lessons with Udo Dahmen, Lui Ludwig, Jost Nickel, Florian Alexandru-Zorn and Moritz Müller. His style puts the focus on musicality, feel, precision and sound, blending 70s and 80s-inspired drumming with a contemporary approach.

He works for the Art of Drumming YouTube channel, where he is the man behind the drum tuning, playing and audio-mixing for the "Recreating Iconic Drum Sounds" series. These videos have more than 11 Million views combined and make him internationally known in the drumming community.

Besides that, he uses his expertise in drum sound and mixing for doing worldwide remote recording sessions for artists looking for the next step in drum sound and quality playing on their songs. He started doing drum sound and recording workshops in 2023. His self-designed and built Clap-Machine (a device which acoustically reproduces a clap-like sound for drum set application & includes a microphone) and double bass suitcase drum set are prime examples of his sound-knowledge and creativity.

Pascal has also worked with numerous bands and artists including Peter Maffay, Flowerovlove, Jens Gilles, Elysia Biro, MICHAL, The Les Clöchards and Shelly Phillips as well as internationally established producers. Additionally, he teaches drums, recording and mixing privately.
